Qualifications

The New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) is a comprehensive list of all quality assured qualifications in New Zealand. NZQA quality assures all National Certificates, National Diplomas, National Degrees and the New Zealand Diploma in Business.

National Certificates and National Diplomas

National Certificates and National Diplomas recognise skills and knowledge that meet nationally endorsed unit and achievement standards.

National Certificates may be gained in a wide range of areas. On the NZQF, there are more than 800 National Certificates and National Diplomas, recognising achievement in a variety of industries and subjects.

National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA)

New Zealand's National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) levels 1-3 are national qualifications for senior secondary school students.

Trade qualifications

In the past, NZQA administered many trade and advanced trade certificate qualifications. See Trade qualifications for more information.

National Degrees

NZQA approves all degrees offered outside the university sector. National Degrees are very new, the first one is under development. There are no providers yet.

New Zealand Diploma in Business

The New Zealand Diploma in Business (NZDipBus) is a nationally recognised qualification, covering general business skills and knowledge, and more career-related options, such as accountancy, banking, management, marketing and tourism.
