6.3.2.1 Scholarship: Eligibility to receive a monetary award

  1. In order to be eligible for a Scholarship monetary award, individuals must be either a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident, and be enrolled in tertiary study in New Zealand.

  2. The recipients of all Scholarship awards must be enrolled in tertiary study in New Zealand in the years they receive monetary awards. Single Subject Awards are paid only in the first year of tertiary study in New Zealand . For awards with second or subsequent year payments recipients must maintain a 'B' grade average during their tertiary study.

  3. Where a candidate meets the criteria for more than one monetary award, he or she will receive only the award of the highest monetary value in most circumstances. 4. Recipients of monetary awards can defer taking up monetary awards for one year.

  7. Award recipients will have until the 15 th of January of the year following the receipt of their result to submit their award application. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of the monetary award.

  8. All Scholarship success will be recorded on the candidate's Record Of Achievement whether or not the candidate is eligible to receive a monetary award.
