Assessment and Certification Rules and Procedures for Secondary Schools - 2008
5.1 Accreditation Requirements
- Accreditation involves an evaluation of the capacity of a school to assess against standards registered on the NQF as specified in the Quality Assurance Standard for Accreditation of Secondary Schools.
- Accreditation is required for any standard for which candidate achievement is to be assessed by the school and reported to The New Zealand Qualifications Authority. The list of domains for which all schools are automatically accredited is the Base Scope of Accreditation for Schools (BSAS).
- Schools wishing to assess against standards beyond the BSAS must extend the scope of their NQF accreditation.
- A school's ongoing accreditation is reconfirmed using information contained in Managing National Assessment Reports and Education Review Office reports.
