Māori providers
Just over 100 registered providers identify themselves as Māori providers. These educational institutions deliver Māori subjects, conduct their courses in a Māori environment, or focus specifically on the needs of Māori learners. NZQA statistics show that Māori providers play a critical role in lifting the achievement, retention and participation levels of Māori learners. NZQA works one-on-one with Māori education providers and wāngana to support them in their development aspirations for iwi and Māori. Regional facilitators work with Māori providers to assist with programme development, quality management systems and communications with NZQA. Contact the Provider development and support team. Many Māori providers are keen to deliver Māori qualifications or national standards as part of their courses. Contact the Māori Qualifications Service for assistance. NZQA also produces a range of free assessment resources for subjects like Whakairo and Māori Performing Arts.Provider development and support
